View from Caroline's grave on Mount Hermon
The Eternal Snows from your lonely grave beneath a tall towering pine tree. Why here Caroline, why not in the consecrated grounds where all your colleagues of years gone by lie.
Rumors abound but we won't pay attention to them, they are only rumors.
Was it so you can see the sun rise and set on the eternal snows? Was it so you could witness your children grow up and play tag on Mount Hermon's flats?
Was it so you could witness the yearly ritual of staff and students, celebrating the Resurrection story at sunrise service on Easter morning?
Does your spirit rise and set with the sun as it rises and sets in all its glory sparkling, glistening and dancing on the snow draped peaks?
Do I see tears of joy or tears of sadness as you watch your children play on the flats. Do you wish to embrace them, hold them, guide them with words of wisdom?
Through the years you have watched children come and go, grow old and join you on Mount Zion, the city of the living God. You watched me as a child play on the same flats, often visiting your grave, asking, wondering, what mysteries lie beneath the ground? What spirit rises to meet the sun and the snows day after day after day after day.
Then I was young, now I am old, but something still draws me to visit your site every time I visit. Something eternally beautiful, something eternally glorious to behold, your lonely grave on the backside of Mount Hermon facing the eternal snows!
